Obama the Antichrist ?

So I had a really fucked up conversation with my Dad’s side of the family the other day.  I will apologize in advance for the free-form rambling of this post … maybe later I’ll tidy it up a bit into more biting cynicism but for now this will have to do as I am tired … Read post and take this poll after …

My mom and my dad could not be further apart in their political views these days, and it’s a good thing they got divorced. She is a firm supporter of Obama, though realistic that he’s still just a politician, she hopes he’ll be better than the Bush crowd that simply made more money for a small top portion of business associates tied to oil and military. She doesn’t foam at the mouth when she talks about McCain and Palin – she points out reasonable things like his political views, her batty lack of experience and corrupt past history in Alaska as well as her virulently anti-abortion views when talking about why she’d never want him/her elected.

The fact that he’s been a Bush supporter on most of the issues that caused the economic situation today (and on the Iraq war) and that Bush managed in the process of his two terms to destroy the entire US economy and potentially the economy of most of the first world countries in his continued allowance of further unbridled capitalism, completely void of meaningful regulations. Now, yes, some of these policies were started by Democrats … but certainly he only furthered their initiatives, further deregulated industries that should never have been deregulated etc.. I can’t even understand why the people in the US are not protesting on the streets in massive numbers considering what this man did to their country. By far the worst president in the history of the country. So, even if Obama is still part of the same ‘political machine’ most people who support him are realistic – we just hope he’s a kinder, gentler fuck up the ass than Bush and will try to change more things for the better of the middle class, knowing that the good of the whole country is really in the best interest of all political parties if they want the US to remain a constitutional democracy (even though he’s a millionaire).

On the other hand, to speak to my step Mother and my Dad and listen to the evil hating shit that comes out of their mouths – I am speechless. They sound like they living in a science fiction movie and speak like they are brown shirt Nazi’s in WWII, dumbly repeating the puppeted words of their masters verbatim without stopping for a moment to consider how absolutely repugnant and unrealistic the words coming out of their mouths are. The amazing propaganda machine that is the right-wing has managed to whip up such hatred of Obama – I’ve never witnessed such knee-jerk reactions that are not based in reality during a political campaign. My stepmother actually said to me that she thinks Obama will be the ‘anti-Christ’ if he’s elected and she and my Dad think it is meaningful sign that people like Louis Farrakhan call Obama ‘a Messaih’ (another stupid caricature from the opposite end of the spectrum). They both agreed with each other on this point. Right wing Christian freaks have been shouting in their ears and they believe them.

What is it about otherwise seemingly intelligent people that allows them to believe – seriously believe – such blatently obvious utter tripe ? Stepmom also thinks Palin is amazing (well this is understandable as she is strongly anti-abortion herself). She says Biden talks out of both sides of his mouth, but then she finds Palin credible despite seeing how she’s run Alaska and the scandals there about how she abused her power (how does that fit in with an ‘aw shucks’ hockey mom image) ? I just fail to understand how people become so bamboozled by propaganda that they cannot realistically watch a person speak on TV and judge them for themselves, not through the ridiculous viewpoints of people on the extreme edge of either side. Just watching Palin squirm and wriggle, unable to put together meaningful sentences when interviewed by newscasters is enough to make my skin crawl – like hearing fingernails on a chalk-board. But then Bush is the same level of idiot and many people loved him. Maybe they don’t like to vote people in with higher IQs than they themselves can comprehend would exist ?

When I pointed out to my Dad that there is truly little difference between Republicans and Democrats, and that really it’s the rich vs. the poor, he agreed. We talked about the banking scandals and how there were as many involved Republicans as Democrats who profited all these years from the de-regulation policies and how Bush controlled the country for 8 years, so how could he tell me this was Jimmy Carter’s fault or the fault of the poor.

Oh yeah, this was another nugget – the right wing now is saying that the loan programs started by Carter to help poor families get homes in the fucking 1970s caused the current bank failures !! That this Carter policy was responsible for the Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac crashes 30 years later after years of de-regulation and changes in that industry since it was first incepted (which by the way started under the evil motherfucker Ronald Reagan)!

Fuck me – like we didn’t have quite a few Republican politicians come through in that time to correct any supposed mistakes Carter made? No, of course not. But of course the original Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac loans are now mostly repaid from the era of Carter – the defaulted loans are the ones given out in the de-regulated world economy that Carter’s team certainly did not foresee, where banks bet on the mortgages with each other on the open stock market!.

All he could say in response was that McCain was a ‘rebel’ and a ‘maverick’ (I love that the real Maverick family are suing to get McCain to stop using their family name in vain!). Well he does live in McCain’s home state, so is even more full of the garbage from that end of things than most of the country. Still how can the country’s Republicans, who had power for 8 years, cling to the notion that NONE OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS THEIR FAULT when it stares them in the face ? Are they so much part of the ‘blame anyone but me generation’ that they can’t see the forest for the trees – can’t see how greedy politicians in a 2 party system are going to fuck the poor no matter what ? That it’s all a big game – Republicans rape the country for 8 years, the Democrats come in and make love a bit while screwing around behind your back, then you get raped by Republicans again for 8 more years – that this is the cycle we’ve been in since WWII and the takeover by the military industrial complex and corporate interests ? That the sixties and all the political assassinations assured this cycle would continue (with more Republicans than Democrats of course) via threat of death if you do not tow the party line? That the US has basically LOST it’s middle class and is now exporting it to countries like India thanks to corporate interests – that there is NO SUCH THING as a ‘US Corporation’ – none of them have national pride or national interests as a concern?

But he still went back to his comfortable right-wing rhetoric in the end that explains all the pain away, never blames rich corporate heads who control the press or the politicans, and instead points the finger at Mexican immigrants, ‘evil doer’ terrorists (like Obama!!) and anything else ‘out there’ and untangible to keep them frightened and not looking too deeply to find the real truth. The propaganda masterminds are great at using fear of ‘other’ to control the population – Hitler used it and the right-wing Republican party uses it. It’s like the part of my Dad that is logical and intelligent and ‘should know better’ is just lost to this fear-based rumour mongering. And as he goes ( a college educated engineer with a Master’s degree ), so goes much of the nation.

Two outcomes to the election I can foresee.

1. Election will be stolen by the Republicans just as it was 4 years ago even though Obama leads in polls

2. Obama will win and will be assassinated by some freak all pumped up on this deadly racist, anti-Islamic pro-‘American’ rhetoric put out by the right wing which has people like my step Mother believing this man is an un-American muslim terrorist (oh yeah, and he’s black!)

I hope that no matter what happens, there will be riots on the streets of the states in protest – violent ones that force people to realize that despite the bullshit that comes out of my step-Mother’s mouth – you are NOT MORE FREE IN THE USA than anywhere else on the planet. But I won’t hold my breath. Likely it will be followed by another ‘terrorist attack’ to ensure the fear stays strong and propaganda keeps hold of the hearts and minds of the US citizens.

Your freedoms are GONE folks – wake up! You are so much LESS FREE than most of Europe but your propaganda news machines make you think you have so much to be ‘thankful’ for … you, many of you, even believe that 99.9% of the free world must be wrong and that socialized medicine will be evil! Socialized medicine will never come to the USA for three reasons.

1. Insurance companies won’t let it – they stand to lose out big time

2. Doctors won’t accept reasonable salaries and the loss of their fake demi god status

3. People are fucking stupid in the USA and even though they travel to other countries, or hear people who live in and experience the health benefits n other nations talk about how good it is – they prefer to believe the scare tactic horror stories coming from items 1 and 2 – the ones who will lose lots of money in a socialized medical system

Unfortunately the only way I can see the US improving at all is via total US economic collapse (unfortunately that will take out much of Europe and is unlikely now that we have Sarko and other Euro-corporate boys running over there to try to tell the idiot how to stop the bleeding) and a complete tossing out of all the Washington insiders, and a popular revolt electing real humans to the Congress and white house. I can’t ever see that happening though – the media is corporate, the corporations are too powerful, richer than many small countries in fact …

So that is why I will never ever move back there – and why I hate politicians such as Sarkozy and anyone else with policies who try to change Europe to be more like the States — ie, to allow corporations more power here – the socialist nations of Europe need to resist the raw capitalism of the States – so far the people here are far more politically astute than the citizens in the US and so I can just hope that continues, but then again – the French elected Sarkozy last time … now proven as just another one of Bush’s butt wipers and corporate ass-kisser.

Bitter Ballots

I have been avoiding this for awhile, because I hate US politics, but I figure I should weigh in on the whole election year thing.

I can say ‘Go Obama’ with relative ease. However, I feel that if he’s elected he’d be assasinated if he tries to actually change the status quo too radically. I just think the whole war and oil machine is too big. I think that is why Al Gore suddenly backed down from challenging the election results fraught with fraud claims and electronic voting abuse, and is why the courts did nothing to make judgements against the vote fraud and why congress did not open an investigation. I believe pretty firmly that a corporate coup has taken the place of our government, through the lobbiests and payoffs. I think that they became firmly entrenched during the Reagan and Bush I era, and have never really gone away.

The first Clinton was somewhat crooked, but put a friendlier face on the graft due to his domestic policies. I don’t think Hillary will be any better and I am certain she is more crooked than not as far as backhanders and ‘helping’ her friends. It’s sad that she is the first woman to really have a chance to be elected president – but I always figured if there was a woman elected, she’d have to be more of a Thatcher type, and could not be a liberal (it would scream ‘liberal feminist’ – which is the type the right really goes for the jugular on).

So, if she wins the nomination, the right wing will fry her with more scandals, I imagine – and my guess is that if Obama wins there will be an assasination (or at least an assasination attempt) like JFK and his brother Bobby, MLK and Malcom when they all were on the cusp of really changing something for the greater good. I think this is exactly why Abby Hoffman committed suicide – he wrote ‘they have become too strong, we cannot defeat them’.

I am not sure a simple election can get rid of the business-led internal coup that has taken over the US government right now, and drive out the corporate interests that run it. Since elections have gone electronic and the companies that make the voting machines fund the political parties, I completely doubt it. Add to that the low average intelligence in the US thanks to the crumbling education system and it means that a large percentage of Americans think we ‘won’ the Vietnam war, and couldn’t point to France or Iraq on a map of the world – so, I don’t think the average citizen even has the intelligence anymore to know he’s being duped.

So ‘Go Obama’ and I hope you have a guardian angel on your shoulder.

Of the Republicans I can always hope that Huckabee wins the nomination as I think he’d be easier to vote against than McCain, and will ensure a Democratic victory. Democrats are not that different than Republicans anymore (compared to European political parties) except that their media stars seem to have more education and intelligence, and less use of expletives and name calling and have somewhat more moral domestic policies not entirely targeted at the rich or at least not as openly benefitting them at the expense of the middle class and poor — which of course means the Democrats are not as popular, since aforementioned general national intelligence is quite low the most clownish buffoonery is what they can understand and what appeals – knee-jerk patriotism is easy to whip up in people without brains as well, and they are easier to keep under control with fear-based propoganda such as FOX News.

Unfortunately McCain is coming out as a strong Republican challenger – he has too many very wrong social politics for me, but anyone being accused by the right-wing as being ‘not conservative enough’ is sounding OK to me and I’d pick him over Bush any day on intelligence and balls alone. At least he had the guts to fight in Vietnam and not run away. And at least he seems not destined to destroy the environment like Bush. But his war hawk-ishness is disconcerting – especially since he knows what war is like. Well, at least in any case, Bush will be out of the picture – but will the ‘men behind the curtain’ running him remain the same?

Go Obama.

Take Back Journalism Americans . . .

Watch this, and do something about it:

I dare you to. This video is a great proof of the way that propaganda similar to the Soviet Union’s darkest days is really all you get to see in US TV “news” shows anymore. It has great shots and interviews with real reporters and editors who worked on FOX news, showing the actual memos coming from the top telling them what to emphasis and report on that day, and how journalism has been destroyed. You can just give thanks to the Corporate States of America and the monopoly on the media by one man, the lapdog suck up of the right-wing – Mr Rupert Murdoch. . . . .

Go out and do something before the Bush administration takes the last of your rights away to be able to actually do something about it.

Here is another good site that emphasises how FOX News uses sex to sell stories — thus they will go against the supposed ‘family values’ of the fake planks of the Republican party in order to entice viewers to stick around and listen to the other lies they put forth on topics like Iraq, Afghanistan, Bush, 9/11 and the rest.

This one has a petition to sign to ask the FCC to stop putting your tax dollars towards the FOX smut-o-rama used to sell it’s right wing agenda. If you have ‘a la carte’ cable, be sure to insist that FOX is not one of the stations you are paying for.

http://foxattacks.com/decency

I always knew FOX was bad when I lived in the US, but I moved in 2001 and it’s definitely worse than ever – I can’t even stand to listen to it for 5 minutes when I am back on the states. It’s great to see the proof and statistics all in place, showing clearly how this station operates, and see the biased political memos which drive it’s daily stories.

Bitter Medicine – Sicko and Michael Moore

July 9 – must have missed this but then I was not watching CNN too much here in France (I find their reporting incredibly lacking compared to some of the French stations).

Go Michael! This is a great video of Michael Moore taking CNN’s Wolf Blitzer to task for the media’s lies and distortions about his own movies (Fahrenheit 9/11 and Sicko) as well as about their totally shite reporting on the war when it first started and how they never asked the hard questions they should have. Wolf is dumbstruck. Hopes Michael saves his career. Other CNN lackeys make lame-o comments to try to insult Moore after the interview is over. Clearly they were blindsided. Finally some fun on TV again.

 http://www.alternet.org/blogs/video/56446/

CNN spins it to try to make themselves look good and like Moore only wants publicity for his movie (well DUH and at least his movie is about something IMPORTANT, unlike CNN and others making weeks of news on Paris Hilton, Ms Lohan and other drug addled media whores) – they start saying Wolf is an ‘attack dog’ — more like ‘lap dog of the White House’  – cracks me up: http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/07/20/blitzer.ap/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

Later, CNN admitted some mistakes and the 2 ‘made up’: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070717/ap_en_tv/tv_cnn_moore

The Rightwing are shitting themselves, complaining Moore has ‘too much liberal media face time’ on this website, dedicated to exposing  a so-called ‘liberal bias’ on US news shows. Not sure how you can compare a few hours on CNN to the ENTIRE FOX network being right wing 24 hours a day 7 days a week, but whatever. http://newsbusters.org/taxonomy/term/458 – Go for it and check it out – I am not afraid of right wing freaks.

Bloscar ? Ha ha ha ha ha. Bitter about Barbie. I mean Steph.

Edit Sept 7 : I have found that ThisGirl Steph has moved her blathering right-wing editorials to WordPress. Welcome Steph 😉 I have updated the links below that are still on the new site. I don’t know where her personal blog went but it used to be called ‘ThisGirl’ … that title was taken already on WordPress by a submissive woman writing about her sex experiences with her ‘master’ – whoops 😉  Considering Steph’s belief that no women like anal sex and that we’re all ‘forced’ into it, I am guessing that blog is not hers. But who knows 😉

Interesting to me is that she did not carry over various comments that disagreed with her when moving to WordPress – such a shame as they were worth a good laugh.

She also started the same exact blog on Blogger – maybe before realizing that they do not honor copyrights in their end-user agreement or was web the traffic too low?? Anyhow, seems she’s landed here at WordPress, following the refusal of blog.co.uk to bow to her temper tantrum demands they stop a fellow blogger called NotSteph from publishing a blog that criticized her opinions and posts. She claimed intellectual copyright infringement (? what gives her the idea she HAS an intellect??) because he quoted her blog (in order to criticize it).

That is rich stuff, as she so often quotes (and libellously re-words other people’s quotes to her own twisted liking) from other people’s blogs or news stories in order to comment on them and criticize them herself. My my my. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Don’t give her too much traffic folks – it only confuses encourages her egotistical nature.

Original post (links into her personal blog no longer work):

So this girl writes a load of rubbish on her blog. She’s anti-woman, pro-Muslim extremist (my labels, of course, not hers) who lives in imperialistic UK but criticises the USA as if her country (one of our corporate colonies now) is somehow better. This July 4th navel gazing and back-slapping self-congratulatory post really made me crack up. She points to the USA as if she is not already part of it by living in the UK.  Hello deary – you are one of US.

Now I am all against Bush but I am not so stupid as to think that there is going to be some overthrow of the government there as long as they all have iPods and iPhones to worry about, and I am not dumb enough to think that I am somehow superior because I have ‘realized’ this and that my country of residence is any different. Bush is taking over and is a dictator it’s clear. But even if he is overthrown and replaced with a more pleasant puppet, nothing essential will change. The era of nation states is ended – we are now in the era of corporate states and thus criticism as it is levelled is so useless and pointless. Only the radicals protesting the G8 type summits seem to have a clue about what is really going on now in governments.

That is what gets me – she seems to think that she can live in her little island country all protected from the outside world by her cocoon, and yet be immune from its influence and priviledge. She is a free educated woman and somehow thinks it’s OK to ‘defend’ countries where Sharia law was brought in and stoning for adultery is done (oh but she claims this doesn’t really happen, it’s all Western media lies) – as if any sane educated woman would choose this type of oppression on their own if not influenced by the woman-hating culture that is represented in the Sharia ruled lands. Any Muslim woman who is brought to her attention in blog comments as a critic of Islam for it’s sexism is just sloughed off by Steph as a ‘pornographer’ or various other insults – somehow it is not legitimate for THEM (women who grew up in Islam) to criticize how it treated them and make statements about Islam – and only Steph (an ostensibly white blonde UK Christian raised girl) has the true story on Islam (from all her male bloggy friends) – certainly one could not believe a woman who grew up under it’s thumb and got smart enough to get out!

I also find her to be a real freak (proud that her brother beat up an ex-boyfriend on top of it all but ‘against’ telling the police about her attacker because of some freaky ‘loyalty’ to a mafioso oath but just prior to that claiming to be insulted by ex-boyfriend’s mafia insinuations). Oh, and another sad/funny thing to me – she believes in Sicily having self-rule and constantly brings up her Italian heritage and family’s anti-Mussolini stance as some badge of ‘resistance fighter’ for herself or something. Hello – you are 2nd generation – get over it! And she now states that all government should go to this local form of self rule in areas where any group wants their freedom (she defends ETA for example in the Basque conflict as well). Yes, let’s all descend into Middle Ages pfiefdoms shall we? What a myopic and ridiculous point of view – the average country would end up poorer than a single division of a big corporation and can you imagine trying to deal with a million currencies, immigration and trade laws – a completely unsustainable economic model for the world we live in today.

She behaves like a lost adolescent who was abused by a relative as a young girl and now has turned her secret self-blaming self-hatred outwards (blaming all other women in the world for their fates and saying they ‘like’ being oppressed even when they’ve never had a chance to be educated or free or that 95% of women who report rape make false claims about it) and thus has been left open to brain-washing by mindless false lefty political ‘correctness’ into thinking that it’s OK for any religion to call for the death of people for insulting it. The fact that she also openly flirts with men endlessly on her blog in order to get them on her side is to me just another indication of her own internalization of some type of childhood abuse. In between calling for Tony Blair’s body to be peed on by people after he is dead, she exchanges cutesy winks and ‘thank you’ remarks from various sycophant males who clearly are there for her pretty blonde face, and will just lick up whatever she spits out.

She defends all religious nutters by suggesting that Tony Blair and his wife deserved death and their bodies to be left out for people to abuse because Blair was to knight Salman Rushdi. This act, which has her nose (and the collective noses of Islamist extremists) all out of joint is symbolic of course, and I say ‘good for them’. Take a stand against extremism and for literature. But she prefers a government that would say ‘oh my, we can’t award this man knighthood for his literary contributions – what will the Muslim extremist think?!’ As if the UK should need to worry about such rubbish when deciding who to give and not give some ridiculous outdated monarchical title to. And then she is ‘claiming’ at the same time to ‘defend’ Rushdie’s ‘freedom of speech’ to write his ‘nasty little books’. Yeah, she really believes in free speech! Yeah, we can’t possibly have a book that questions anything about faith, can we? No … not that!

Obviously our collective faiths cannot stand up to any type of questions so instead we’ll just behead people who say differently! Yeah, that’s the ticket! …. Clearly the Christian faith managed to have plenty of recent questions (the Gnostic Gospels, Angels and Demons and many others) about how true the Bible is or how it came to be and how it came to be in these modern times – and all without riots calling for the deaths of those authors. And the faith did not fall. And we look back on the bad old days of things like the Spanish Inquisition and say it was wrong. But yet, so many in Islam cannot stand for the same type of questioning to be put towards their faith today and it just amazes me that people rioted and 20 people died due to this fictious book. In the same way it amazed me that Muslims rioted over some idiotic cartoons in a Danish newspaper and managed to kill themselves as well in the process. Extremist of any religion are always problematic. I can understand it happening in the ‘dark ages’ many eons ago when these religions were first invented … but must we continue now to go down that same ridiculous path of darkness? But to me the big question is – who profits from these extremists? Well – quite obviously our governments do. They use it as an excuse to take away more and more freedoms and keep more tabs on us each day. And many of the Arab world leaders (despots for the most part, rich oil magnates in Saudi Arabia etc.) also benefit – focus the hatred of the people outward on religious targets, and they will not look inwards and who is running the country and making them poor and miserable. Even Hussein was in on this game until he got on the wrong side of the corporate Americans and lost.

I detest quite equally the Christian freaks of the US Bible Belt who bomb abortion clinics and target doctors who perform abortions (targeting even their children at school in the name of saving babies … yeah ‘greater good’ and all that) or who call for teaching ‘Intelligent Design’ in schools and throwing out texts about fossils, and Hindu freaks who burn buses of Muslims to get back and Muslims killing Hindus. On the other hand at least I can be proud that my root faith had a guy in charge who preached ‘love thy neighbor’ and which decided the New Testament was the way to go and that perhaps the Old Testament was a bit shall we say, ‘outdated’ in its violence? A Buddhist does not have to feel funny about liking a guy such as Buddha. Yet, Islam follows a guy who is responsible for leading armies to slaughter and rape non-believers himself – personally! All in the name of peace. That, my friends, I find quite amazing. I mean normally we revere people like Buddha and Jesus or even non-dieties like Ghandi, Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King who got much needed change through espousing peace and justice (though of course there was some violence, their moral ‘right’ and eventual success came by the fact that they were not the instigators). Not to say that all religions have not been abused at one point or another by those who have decided to nominate themselves as ‘in charge’ of them – everyone likes to use prophetic speech to further their own political gains. That is the sad sick fact about the majority of humans – they are opportunistic pigs looking out only for themselves. See Winnie Mandela for quick proof. Sigh.

At any rate, back to the subject of my bitter rant on Barbie Blogger. From her description of Rushdie’s book she clearly never read it. She also seems to think that his winning the Man Booker Prize is some merely ‘elitist’ thing to be shrugged off as meaningless in anyone’s decision to give him an elitist award like a knighthood (his 2nd book – before he wrote the one the Muslims freak out about won the Booker Prize). Well, based on that fine and well-researched opinion, I guess she gets her own literature strictly from whatever is on sale at Tesco’s or is on the best seller’s list at Luton airport while waiting for her Easy Jet flight. But I myself and many of my friends who went to University and managed to avoid being brainwashed by extremist religious nutters and woman-hating professors do like to read works of literature and we all use things like the Booker, Pulitzer and Whitbread prizes to find good new books to read.  Clearly she is just mouthing what she’s heard from extremist Muslim websites about his book which is a total load of old wank and she doesn’t have the guts to answer many of the comments asking her a simple question : ‘But have you read a single word of any of his books before you criticize him getting this literary knighthood award’?

Her post also says: “Blair, the British Mussolini, will leave office disgraced and dishonoured but at least he and Cherie won’t be machined gunned and hung upside down outside the window of number 10, then thrown out on to the streets for people to piss on although that’s probably what they deserve. ” Yeah, because their sworn duty as politicians was to be stark defenders of the Muslim faith as defined by it’s most extreme believers — like you Steph?? Give me a break. (Oh, she likes the Mussolini term a lot because at least on a monthly basis she has to remind us how her grandpa fought him, as if that is some ‘badge’ that gives her ‘credibility’).

Do I think her blog should be stopped? Hell no – I mean where else can you get so much to laugh at in 1 reading anymore these days?
