Bitter Discourse

My step Grandmother died last week. She was part of the east-coast liberal intelligentsia ultra rich crowd (husband, deceased, was a university professor and Nobel Prize winner). Her dying words were ‘Obama, Obama’. I hope she was seeing a vision of the future election winner.

I think after the debates last week, it’s pretty obvious that McCain is not going to change a thing. Or we can say that if he dies and Sarah Palin gets into power he’ll change things but only for the worse. That woman is a scarey bitch, playing games with her bullshit hockey mommy facade over a disgustingly cruel inner character who blames victims and represses individual freedoms. I also hate anyone who supports arial gunning of wolves, and who thinks hunting is something that one could practice as a ‘sport’.  We can hope (bitterly though ’cause I never trust a politician no matter how cool they try to make themselves sound) that in this case Obama would change something.

My take on politicians is that they are all quite selfish and ego-driven beings – no one would dare run for president given what it takes to get there these days, were they not. But in general it seems that the way Democrats try to stay in power is by gathering up a large pack of commoners around them,a along with a few key wealthy do-gooders in order to get themselves into power, and then once there they of course must also work with the ultra rich and to benefit them (or they lose continued support and funding in congress), and they of course take every advantage to make themselves and their buddies rich but they mitigate this by throwing some bones to the middle class pack every once in awhile and thus generally keep the lives of more people in the US happier, and their larger power base satisfied. Whilst Republicans simply keep the giant pack at bay for years using lies and fear mongering tactics to manipulate the middle class and lower classes, growing richer and more powerful only in their tight inner circle of super rich supporters and destroying the rest of the country or whatever else stands in their way (until it gets so bad that once more they are tossed into the street by voters, or if it gets bad enough one could always hope for a real revolution again).

I don’t think any national level politician is free from greed or is truly there for the ‘common good’, but I think liberal democrats at least feel guilty about fucking people over and do a few good things here and there, which is why I prefer them to Republicans. Ideally I’d prefer socialism but whatever. I can’t imagine Americans going for that as they are so utterly brainwashed by a poor education system and Fox news (Faux News) propaganda that the very word sends them into purple-faced spittle-filled rants.

Anyhoo … I don’t donate money to politicians in general but today I donated money to Obama. I hope he makes it …

Lord of Amer

If I was Goddess of this planet, I know there would not be too many people left because I would certainly first be the angry Goddess and unleash some wicked wrath. Here are my votes for which sinners to wipe out first in the next Flood …

1. Anyone who starts a war in the name of religion, revenge, oil, personal or national gain or encourages the start of a war, manipulates the media and public opinion to get a war started or votes for the start of a war.

2. Anyone who has murdered anyone.

3. Anyone who has raped anyone.

4. Paedophiles

5. Anyone who has tortured or beat people or animals.

6. Anyone who harms others or advocates harming others due to their race, religion, sexual orientation or sex (I think this one takes out about 50% of the planet, if not more)

7. Any executive or voting shareholder of a corporation who puts greed and sickening amounts of profit ahead of the well being and fair pay and treatment of their workers or the health of the planet in their production of goods.

8. The majority of Wall street traders (most of which would fit item 7 given half a chance).

9. Politicians who abuse their power and use it for personal gain.

10. Lawyers and judges who are out for a buck, ambulance chasers, the ones who persist the ‘sue them’ mentality creating a society built on petty greed and no personal responsibility.

11. Anyone who does not accept the simple concept that a political governing democracy does not have to go hand in hand with raging out of control corporations and capitalism, and does not accept that for reasons of public well being, industries need to be regulated and that a ceiling on profits via stepped tax brackets helps control people who would otherwise fall into catagory 7.

12. Anyone who thinks that littering the planet, poisoning the planet, pollution, wasteful or harmful manufacturing practices, animal testing of cosmetics etc. are ‘required’ for ‘free trade’ to ‘succeed’.

13. Anyone who advocates or practices factory farming, destroying the souls of people and animals in this hideous practice.

14. Anyone who will not agree to become vegetarian (yep, I am Goddess and you must respect that one of the first things told to Adam and Eve was that in the garden of Eden Man was given all vegetables and fruit and was told ‘for you these shall be meat’.).

15. And to show just how bitchin’ cool I am – you don’t have to believe in me to be saved. If you are ‘agnostic’ but believe in moral right and wrong, agreeing with these points that’s just fine as well. Whether or not you think your soul will continue on after death is your business – as long as you do no harm in living your life, no harm will come to you.

While the Goddess is at it, I feel like adding on some additional punishment for special cases. Paedophiles and torturers of innocent people and creatures will not only be wiped out in the Flood – they will first be skinned alive by a fierce sandstorm, and then covered in salt for about 90 days before being wiped out in the Flood.

The million or so people who remain after this cleansing Flood (probably lots of Buddhists, Hindus, Humanitarians and Unitarian Universalists) will create a wonderful society of people who are tolerant, helpful to each other and the planet, who care for their fellow creatures without exploiting them to death on factory farms and who are shepherds of the planet rather than rapers of the planet, who believe in values beyond money and personal financial gain. But from time to time if they start to stray too far, I as Goddess would not let it get to the stage we are at now before unleashing another ‘cleanup’.

Edna the dog, baby Benjamin who was left to starve to death for eight days while his parents played video games and so many other innocent tortured, murdered creatures – you will get healed and be reborn, and can join the new improved planet and live out your lives as you should have originally done.

This is what I pray for quite often.

Udderly Bitter

Scratch lightly on the surface of our ‘civilized’ society and you will find ever more reasons to be vegetarian and vegan. The meat industry and commercial dairy industry are absolutely disgusting but as long as the murdered flesh all comes out in nice styrofoam packages (designed to soak up the blood) and hermetically sealed so you cannot picture the animal dying in agony a few days prior, you will keep buying and eating it. As long as this type of abuse stays hidden from our view and it all seems ‘sanitized’.  People say ‘oh yes it’s really terrible, but I love eating meat and can’t give it up.’ I wish a lot of these people had to kill their own cow (maybe after raising it for 5 years for milk first) so that I’d at least have some respect for their sorry wishy washy fat asses, hardening arteries and cholesterol clogged hearts.

The recent proof of the torture of animals before they were slaughtered (to try to force downed weakened animals to walk to their deaths so they could still be sold as meat for consumption) was found at a California slaughter house that was dedicated to killing dairy cows – cows that grow up being sociable and used to humans and which many people think of as a ‘nice’ industry to animals. Yes, not only do these cow’s children get taken away from them while still nursing age each spring so you can eat veal, but after about 5 years of being ‘nice pretty dairy cows’ and living in a social herd, they are given thanks in torture and then slaughter when their milk production drops. Don’t think your cheese doesn’t come at as high a price as meat, especially if you eat cheap commercial cheeses from giant factory farms who treat their cows as mere commodities, and not as living beings.

Here is an excerpt from an Australia Herald Sun article (if you did not already hear about it) – my editorial comments are in parentheses prefixed by ‘ed’:

A CALIFORNIA slaughterhouse has been accused of using controversial waterboarding torture on unfit cattle to rouse them long enough to pass inspection.

The Humane Society has released a video showing workers kicking cows, ramming them with forklift blades, applying electric shocks and even using a hose to simulate the feeling of drowning so the animals would revive long enough to pass federal inspection for slaughter.

“The attempt was to make them so distressed and to cause them so much suffering that these animals would get up and walk into the slaughterhouse,” said Humane Society president Wayne Pacelle.

The company was not immediately available for comment. (ed. … no shit! how surprising!)

Mr Pacelle said the plant supplied meat to the Westland Meat Co, the second largest supplier of beef to the USDA Commodity Procurement Program Branch which distributes beef to needy families, the elderly and to the national school lunch program. (ed – ie people who don’t “matter” in our society and who no one complains too loudly or quickly about if a few of them later will get mad cow disease or any other illness one gets from eating sick and already dying animals – what this article doesn’t mention and what a few other articles do mention is that this slaughter house specializes in offing dairy cows).

If people would truly own up to what they want to eat, you’d all be paying about 10 times more for meat and dairy that was produced ‘humanely’ (I still don’t call it humane to murder something in order to eat it, but let’s just for a moment give them a point that treating something with respect until you murder it is better than treating it cruelly all it’s life until you murder it) – but instead consumers demand cheaper and cheaper food – and so factory farming is a booming industry (as they are the only ones with techniques barbaric enough to be able to undercut the prices from raising meat on a ‘real’ farm), and look – we all have to live with the hideous after effects it has on our culture, health and environment. From vegetables with less nutrition, less flavor and more poison due to overfarming, pesticides and chemical fertilizers to blatent torture, sickening living condition and poisoning of animals with antibiotics and other drugs to keep them alive in those horrible conditions long enough to later murder them so they can end up on your plate for lunch. And then of course this all has great effects on the ecosystem and our water supply and our ever growing heaps of waste as we further package and then irradiate this shit so that it won’t go off too fast. Bon appetite!

Oh, and if they shut this one slaughter house down for a few days and fire these employees … so what. First of all that slaughter house has a very high turnover (from reading an interview with the guy who took the videos people hardly stay a week or more on the job) – so firing someone for doing this is irrelvant in many ways as it does not get to the root of the problem at the very TOP of that company – clearly this was a systemic practice done as part of the normal business or these short term employees would never have thought to do these actions randomly.  Meat cannot be cheap unless this type of activity goes on. Large agribusiness firms will just export this type of torture over the border to Mexican slaughter houses (as they do now with US horse slaughter) if we crack down in the US, and the animals will have to endure an even longer truckride to their own personal Dachaus.

How about people start to pony up and pay what meat really costs first of all (the way they had to start to do with cigarettes by paying for the rising costs of health care due to smoking related illnesses), and we put some regulation on ‘low balling’ meat prices which encourage this type of barbarism to start with? How about we put in place regulations that every meat producer is required to be ORGANIC to start with, and nationally encourage vegan or vegetarianism? I suppose that is too ‘radical’ for any politician to propose, but frankly it’s the only moral and ecologically correct solution. Maybe federal programs should be required to pay HIGHER rather than lower prices for their meat (yeah, this slaughter house kills Bessie for the feds) or maybe meat should be off the menu for the ‘needy’ and they should eat federally subsidized organic healthier and cheaper vegetarian diets instead.

I liked this comment by Gene Baur, and think is Farm Sanctuary program is great – I only wish more people thought this way.

Comment by Gene Baur, President and co-founder, Farm Sanctuary
Cruelty Witnessed at Hallmark/Westland Slaughterhouse Not Unique

For decades, I have traveled around the U.S. documenting conditions on today’s farms. Besides seeing animals confined in cages where they can barely move, I have found living animals in trash cans and ‘downed animals’ (those too sick to stand) discarded as dead. Farm Sanctuary was founded with the rescue of Hilda, a non-ambulatory sheep who was too sick to stand and had been discarded on a pile of dead animals behind Lancaster Stockyards in Pennsylvania. Ever since Hilda’s rescue in 1986, Farm Sanctuary has campaigned to end the marketing and slaughter of downed animals. These animals suffer inexcusable cruelty, and eating them poses a threat to human health. After the U.S.D.A. announced the discovery of mad cow disease in the U.S. at the end of 2003, the Agency finally adopted a policy to prohibit the use of downed cattle in the food supply, which Farm Sanctuary had been urging since the mid 1980s. At the time, we were engaged in litigation against the U.S.D.A. to ban downers in the food supply. In fact, less than two weeks prior to the U.S.D.A. admitting mad cow disease existed in the U.S., Farm Sanctuary won an important court decision, which would have allowed our case to proceed. After confirming mad cow disease in the U.S., the U.S.D.A. admitted that downed cattle pose a threat to human health, and agreed to keep these animals out of the food supply. With this policy in place, our legal case was settled.Unfortunately, the U.S.D.A. “no downer” policy has been undermined by agribusiness’ interest in making a few extra dollars by slaughtering sick animals for human food, and by it’s own failure to implement a clear position. Over the years, the U.S.D.A. has allowed loopholes and judgment calls to be made in order to allow downed animals to be used for food. This led to the abuse recently documented at the Hallmark slaughterhouse in Chino, CA. In the absence of a clear and strictly enforced policy that bans the marketing and slaughter of downed animals, problems will continue.Farm Sanctuary is asking that Congress pass the Downed Animal Protection and Food Safety Act (H.R. 661, S. 394) which would prohibit the slaughter of cattle, and other downed animals including pigs, sheep and other livestock for human food. This bill will help remedy the shortcomings of current USDA regulations regarding downed animals by requiring the immediate, humane euthanasia of all animals who become nonambulatory. Finally, to add some perspective to this massive recall of 143 million pounds of beef — which has been widely reported to equate to two burgers for every man, woman and child in the U.S. — this number also equates to around 200,000 cows. These were mainly dairy cows — sensitive, social creatures pushed to their biological limits until their milk levels dropped and they were “spent”, no longer profitable to an industry that views them as economic units of production. Modern dairy cows only last a few years in production and before they are worn out and go to slaughter. Most are killed at by their fifth birthday. In contrast, at Farm Sanctuary we have rescued dairy cows who have lived more than 20 years.

Bitter Ballots

I have been avoiding this for awhile, because I hate US politics, but I figure I should weigh in on the whole election year thing.

I can say ‘Go Obama’ with relative ease. However, I feel that if he’s elected he’d be assasinated if he tries to actually change the status quo too radically. I just think the whole war and oil machine is too big. I think that is why Al Gore suddenly backed down from challenging the election results fraught with fraud claims and electronic voting abuse, and is why the courts did nothing to make judgements against the vote fraud and why congress did not open an investigation. I believe pretty firmly that a corporate coup has taken the place of our government, through the lobbiests and payoffs. I think that they became firmly entrenched during the Reagan and Bush I era, and have never really gone away.

The first Clinton was somewhat crooked, but put a friendlier face on the graft due to his domestic policies. I don’t think Hillary will be any better and I am certain she is more crooked than not as far as backhanders and ‘helping’ her friends. It’s sad that she is the first woman to really have a chance to be elected president – but I always figured if there was a woman elected, she’d have to be more of a Thatcher type, and could not be a liberal (it would scream ‘liberal feminist’ – which is the type the right really goes for the jugular on).

So, if she wins the nomination, the right wing will fry her with more scandals, I imagine – and my guess is that if Obama wins there will be an assasination (or at least an assasination attempt) like JFK and his brother Bobby, MLK and Malcom when they all were on the cusp of really changing something for the greater good. I think this is exactly why Abby Hoffman committed suicide – he wrote ‘they have become too strong, we cannot defeat them’.

I am not sure a simple election can get rid of the business-led internal coup that has taken over the US government right now, and drive out the corporate interests that run it. Since elections have gone electronic and the companies that make the voting machines fund the political parties, I completely doubt it. Add to that the low average intelligence in the US thanks to the crumbling education system and it means that a large percentage of Americans think we ‘won’ the Vietnam war, and couldn’t point to France or Iraq on a map of the world – so, I don’t think the average citizen even has the intelligence anymore to know he’s being duped.

So ‘Go Obama’ and I hope you have a guardian angel on your shoulder.

Of the Republicans I can always hope that Huckabee wins the nomination as I think he’d be easier to vote against than McCain, and will ensure a Democratic victory. Democrats are not that different than Republicans anymore (compared to European political parties) except that their media stars seem to have more education and intelligence, and less use of expletives and name calling and have somewhat more moral domestic policies not entirely targeted at the rich or at least not as openly benefitting them at the expense of the middle class and poor — which of course means the Democrats are not as popular, since aforementioned general national intelligence is quite low the most clownish buffoonery is what they can understand and what appeals – knee-jerk patriotism is easy to whip up in people without brains as well, and they are easier to keep under control with fear-based propoganda such as FOX News.

Unfortunately McCain is coming out as a strong Republican challenger – he has too many very wrong social politics for me, but anyone being accused by the right-wing as being ‘not conservative enough’ is sounding OK to me and I’d pick him over Bush any day on intelligence and balls alone. At least he had the guts to fight in Vietnam and not run away. And at least he seems not destined to destroy the environment like Bush. But his war hawk-ishness is disconcerting – especially since he knows what war is like. Well, at least in any case, Bush will be out of the picture – but will the ‘men behind the curtain’ running him remain the same?

Go Obama.

Bitter Rape Paid for by Your Taxes, Americans . . .

Your tax dollars at work (if you are an American) raping for the corporate gains of Halliburton (and probably many congressmen), the sick fucks.

It is amazing to me that there has not yet been a law to change this, and yet – we sit here today with this woman who was raped in Iraq by her co-workers, unable to have her day in court for what was done to her and to get these animals locked up. So extensive were her injuries that she has had to have reconstructive surgery (her pectoral muscles were torn, breast implants torn, and she was anally and vaginally raped). The below is a summary of Jamie’s story quoted from the Move On website:

Jamie Leigh Jones was working in Iraq for a subsidiary of Halliburton when she was drugged and brutally gang-raped by several co-workers.

For the last two years, she’s been asking the US government to hold the perpetrators accountable, but the men who raped her may never be brought to justice because Halliburton and other contractors in Iraq aren’t subject to US or Iraqi laws.

Move On is calling on Congress to investigate Jamie’s case, hold those involved accountable, and bring US contractors under the jurisdiction of US law so this can’t happen again.

A compiled petition with your individual comment will be presented to your Senators and Representative.

Sign the petition here to help change this law: .

If you have had a similar experience or have further information relating to sexual abuse by government contractors while in Iraq or other countries, contact Jamie’s Foundation at this website :

When it comes right down to it, these kind of men do not care at all about women of any kind – they learn to think of them as ‘other’ when they are dark skinned Iraqi’s and continue to think of them that way, even when they are their own co-workers (and in this case blonde and very attractive which is unfortunately probably the ONLY reason her case has been seeing the light of day and on the other hand, kudos to her for having the courage to get up in front of the world to talk about this).

If these sick men do this to their own US co-workers, you can certainly more than imagine that everything you have heard (and worse) that our contractors are accused of doing to Iraqi citizens is also true. Why should we as tax payers be paying Halliburton and sub-contractors to rape, murder and pillage in Iraq in our name and WITH COMPLETE PROTECTION FROM ANY AND ALL CRIMINAL ACCOUNTABILITY? She has now started a civil suit against Halliburton, KBR, rapist Charles Boartz and several other (as yet unnamed) men as that is her only option.

It is entirely disgusting. The heads of these companies should be taken to court for encouragement to rape (it is clear this rape-culture was in fact the corporate culture of KBR, and was entirely overlooked if not even condoned by those in management according to various internal memos that have been put into public circulation since this case came to light).

Let us just be clear about something else. I do not consider the Iraq war ‘just’ or ‘correct’ nor do I think there is a damned thing heroic about any employee of Halliburton or KBR going over there to work as a paid mercenary (earning a fortune and operating outside of Iraqi or US law) to do our government’s dirty work and make more money for the Cheney clan. (I have seen some refer to Jamie Lee as a ‘hero’ for going there which I find very distasteful) – however, I do consider our troops who signed up for the military or their local National Guard long before Iraq was an issue, and who were posted there as the true war heros – many of them going there and doing their duty sworn knowing in their hearts this is a useless stupid and utterly pointless war (unless you have stock in companies like Halliburton of course).

I think they just picked the wrong girl to gang rape – she is married to a military man and has a daddy with a Republican friend in congress, she is blonde and attractive and educated – so that people will listen to her – she waited for someone to do the right thing, and was ignored. Now she has had the courage to go public and do it with grace and composure and that is the only reason why now some of these stories of horror are now starting to come out. Who knows how many more attrocities were committed against Iraqi women and men alike by Halliburton, KBR or Blackwater contractors — and we will never hear about those, because they don’t have a daddy in Texas with a congressman to call and a US TV media eager to film their photogenic face talking about this crime.

My negative opinions about Iraq and the US contractors there does not mean I don’t want justice for Jamie Lee Jones – I most certainly do and I want our laws changed so that contractors are subject to criminal prosecution. But I also want all these paid mercenaries out of there; I want Halliburton and all no-bid contractors out of there . And I would love to see Bush, Cheney, Condoleeza et al brought up on charges of crimes against humanity as well as high treason against the US government for what they have done in leading this country into war on a lie, and in how it has been conducted as a business venture for their personal profits and against our national interests ever since.
